Europe’s Brightest Startups Gather in Gävle to Kick Off Their AI-Powered Growth Journey

Some of Europe’s most promising startups are coming to Gävle. From June 30 to July 1, 15 high-potential scaleups from Sweden, Estonia and Finland will gather for the official launch of Growth and Scaling Through AI (GSAI) – a cutting-edge international program tailored for startups ready to expand beyond their home markets and reach scaleup status.
This first sprint marks the beginning of an intensive journey focused on turning proven ideas into international success stories. Under the theme “The Art and Science of Scaling,” participating startups will engage in two intensive days filled with insights, strategy sessions and world-leading expert guidance designed to accelerate their growth in the European markets.
First step: Diagnose Scalability, Formulate Strategy and Choose Your International Market
The first of four sprints will tackle the real-world challenges of scaling: How do you assess if your startup is truly scalable? What does it take to identify your next international market? And how do you adapt your business model and value proposition to meet global demands? The goal is to equip founders with the mindset and tools to break through the ceiling of local growth and step confidently onto the international stage – both smart and efficiently.
In small markets like Sweden, Estonia and Finland, startups can’t afford to think local for long. Scaling up means internationalizing – and GSAI program is designed to make that leap not only possible, but strategic and sustainable to stay ahead of competitors.
World-leading expert in Gävle
A highlight of the sprint is the hands-on workshop led by Professor Davide Sola, one of Europe’s foremost experts on startup scalability. With over two decades of experience guiding startups through complex growth journeys, his session will challenge the participants to diagnose their scalability readiness using a research-based framework, explore cutting-edge concepts like the Massive Transformative Purpose, and dive into resilience strategies for long-term success. Perhaps most valuable of all, each startup will receive individual feedback based on their own diagnostic self-assessment – turning insight into action within sprint 2.
Powerful Collaboration Across the Central Baltic
The gathering is organized by Movexum in proud partnership with AI Sweden, Tehnopol from Estonia, and Yrityssalo in Finland – bringing together some of the strongest innovation ecosystems and business development experts in the Central Baltic region. Together, we are investing in the next generation of globally-minded scaleups and with the power of AI developing business models and value propositions.
This is more than a startup gathering – it’s the launchpad for breakthrough business journeys. The GSAI sprint in Gävle is the first in a series of four, each designed to build momentum and precision, and international capacity for companies ready for international breakthrough. And this is where it all begins.
GSAI, Growth and Scaling Through AI, is financed by Interreg Central Baltic Programme.
